Mineral Exploration Research Centre (MERC) at Laurentian University, specializing in magmatic Ni-Cu-PGE deposits, Cu-Zn VMS deposits, structural geology of ore deposits, lithogeochemistry, Precambrian geology, and metallogeny 

Mineral Deposits Research Unit (MDRU) at the University of British Columbia specializing in magmatic-hydrothermal deposits (porphyry Cu, skarn, replacement deposits, and epithermal deposits), volcanic-hosted massive sulfide deposits, Carlin-type Au deposits, exploration geochemistry methods, diamonds and kimberlitic rocks, and influence of climate on ore genesis on a global basis

The aim of the network is to provide expertise across the entire range of mineral deposits research, to aid in the development of collaborative and interdisciplinary research studies in mineral deposits, and to provide logistical support for visiting students and researchers.
